I have recently been sent some lovely old period black and white photos from Dom Jackson taken at at one of long Marston's quarter and half mile sprints organised by the Evesham Automobile Club in what we think was 1962. Dom is having a look at dates on the packets but thanks to his dad Allan its great to see these photos from a different angle. As you can see from one shot Allan must have been standing on one of the old WWII pontoons which lined the course from end to end of the runway which, as we know, serves as today's drag strip. Dom says that there are some more photos to come but from nearby Wellsbourne Mount Airfield.

Dom has confirmed the meeting is 1962. The very same event the Allard Dragster and Brian Whitty's Chrysler Dragsters were present.

First York meeting 'T' Altered against Granada(!) off the line.But what was I standing next to, think it was a 3-wheeler with what looks like a blown Triumph motor and a fuel tank that looks definately ATCO!
