JAP engines have been popular (most bike folk will know of Alfie Hagon), but here's a couple of others.

Red bike is Ewan Cameron's (http://cameronracingengines.com/esite/home), whilst the blue machine is a relatively new-build that's based on the Hagon frame, with approval from Alf, belonging to Bob Anderson.

Hagon used to make frames for smaller (more affordable) engines.
This little red 500cc Triumph belonged to Bob Anderson until recently sold, but I was fortunate in being able to ride this for a season.

The Brighton Speed Trials, this is a sunny 2007, and a photo I took of Andy's 500cc Triumph "Morado".

Andy's the same chap that did the resto on Paul's Impulse (the supercharged Imp outfit originally built by Micky Pearce).

Note the rather unusual frame configuration of Morado.

I can't remember if Bob actually made it to the finish line under power on that run, or indeed if he actually managed to get back to the paddock under his own steam! Last year, and this year to some extent, he had a lot of mis-fire problems.

Back at the 1964 Dragfest, Denis Jenkinson was fortunate to have a drive in an Allard Dragon 4-wheeler, as well as riding his own NorBSA (a 500cc single motorcycle).

Following the '64 event, Jenks (who was a motorcycle sprinter amongst other things) went on to build one of those new fangled Drag Bikes - A 650 pre-unit Triumph with Norton laydown gearbox, fuelled by a Weber DCOE40 (chocked to 32mm if I remember correctly), slotted into a purpose-built lightweight frame with integral fuel tank as the top spar, and corresponding vertical integral oil tank. Forks were lightweight items from a little LE Velocette. Rear wheel was shod with a racing-sidecar tyre as it square profile gave a large footprint.

In later years (around '76), he took all the mechanicals to build his TriBSA hillclimber and left the frame etc in shed.
Following Jenks' death in '96, I was fortunate enough to obtain what was left of the green drag bike, which was then brought back to life (as they say), and used at few VMCC Sprints.

The photos show the bike as it was back in the 60's, how it was then found, and how it ended up. The bike was sold about 10 years ago, and has changed hands again since.

Another supercharged Triumph, and very tidy it is too. Note the head has been reversed, so the intake is at the front.
This one belongs to Justin Newell and is campaigned at NSA and VMCC Sprint events. Its also been seen as an invited machine at the Hot Rod Drags at Shakespeare CR and , I think, is part of Phil's Nostalgia Dragbike Register.

I snapped this shot at the VMCC Sprint at RAF Wroughton 21-08-2011
