Dial-In Day – Saturday 4th March 2017

The hugely successful Dial-In Day returns to Santa Pod Raceway for 2017 on Saturday 4th March, leaving plenty of time for attendees to prepare for the first round of the National Drag Racing Championships during Easter’s Festival Of Power weekend. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of hunting or being hunted on the drag strip and we’re inviting you to come along and give it a go. The concept of bracket racing (the entry level of drag racing) is simple. The slower car gets the green light first and a head start according to the difference in predicted finish times, meaning that unless both racers predict the same time, you’ll always get a cat-and-mouse scenario which is simple to have a go at, and near-impossible to master. Graduates from previous Dial-In Days have gone on to achieve great things in the National Championships in classes such as Sportsman ET, the VW Drag Racing Club and beyond. There have been multiple event wins, number one qualifiers, perfect ETs and reaction times and even a couple of championships won by those who started it all with a trip to the Dial-In Day.

If you’re thinking about getting involved with drag racing, or simply want a little insight into what it’s like to take part, the Dial-In Day will not disappoint. It’s a no-obligation training day that consists of classroom-based sessions to teach you everything you need to know about bracket racing before track-based mini-events allow you to experience full qualifying and eliminations for yourself. You absolutely DO NOT need a race vehicle to take part; in fact we restrict the day to vehicles completing the ¼ mile in 12 seconds or slower to reinforce the accessibility of the sport. Only the normal RWYB rules apply so, in most standard road cars, that means you need to bring nothing more than yourself, your car and your driving licence. The RWYB prices apply too with admission at just £10 and sign-on fee the regular £25 for the day.

New for 2017, thanks to the introduction of the ET Bike class to the National Championships, we shall welcome bikes to the Dial-In Day too, making this year’s event the most accessible yet.

Dial-In Day takes place at Santa Pod Raceway, near Wellingborough (NN29 7XA), on Saturday 4th March from 8.00am. To book or find out more, check out http://www.rwyb.co.uk/dialin.php
