The Allard Chrysler Action Group – the enthusiasts approved by the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu to restore Europe’s first dragster (Sydney Allard’s 1961 Allard Chrysler) that is owned by the museum – is looking for new team members to help complete the current restoration.
After a lengthy engine restoration during 2015 things are now moving on a pace and the car should be ready for ‘cackle’ and parade demonstrations early this summer. Because not everyone will be available for all public appearances it is handy to have at least three different crews capable of operating the dragster. And to get it ready there is still work to do so volunteers are needed now to help with the final work and gain experience in procedures.
Knowledge of blown and injected methanol burning engines is ideal and as the dragster is based at Beaulieu, living within an easy commute is useful.
